TFYHI Houston Develops & Refines Resources to Support Youth and Caregivers

TFYHI Houston July 2021 Updates

The TFYHI Houston team has been developing and refining resources to answer some of the most frequently asked questions by youth in care regarding accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare and preparing for a visit with a healthcare provider.

The team is also working on designing resources to help caregivers prepare youth for healthcare provider visits. These resources will be included in the Brave Conversations curriculum. Based on feedback from the young adult consultants, TFYHI Houston is exploring interactive ways to present sexual and reproductive healthcare content for youth and their caregivers, such as short videos and instructional materials.

Finally, TFYHI Houston is excited to announce that the Houston peer mentorship partner, Harris County Youth Collective (HCYC) will relaunch as a Youth-Led Organizing Entity. They will build upon the work of HCYC’s Youth and Community Collaboration efforts and be led by Dieter Cantu and the work of the Youth and Community Specialists. The Collective Action for Youth launch party will be held on July 24, 2021 at the Deluxe Theater in Houston TX—register here to join the celebration!
